Bempton Cliffs

Rocks, Longshaw

On Sunday I felt in need of some sunshine so I painted this. An autumn view of some of the huge eroded gritstone rocks on top of a hill at Longshaw in the Peak District. (This painting is now sold.)

Christmas decorations



A bit late in the day - here are two impressions of details of Christmas decorations in a darkened room. These were tiny parts of the decorations on huge trees in Chatsworth. Every Christmas parts of the house are decorated, and the dining room (though grand) actually looks cosy with the velvet curtains closed, and the huge chandelier and candles lit. The lighting varies from warm and glowing to frosty and silvery, and I could paint a whole series of pictures on this gorgeous theme. (These are mixed media works in acrylic and oil pastel.)
