I saw these elegant grebes at Carsington Reservoir, a favourite place of ours for birdwatching. It was a fairly overcast day, and the colours were generally muted, but the white feathers on the grebes' faces shone as they flicked their heads in unison. I don't usually paint birds, but I'm quite please with the way this has turned out.

Olive trees, Villeneuve near Avignon
Finally, my painting of olive trees near Avignon is completed! It's taken a while to get back to this painting, and I didn't want to overdo the leaves. This does capture the look of the scene, and its general peacefulness.
