I've recently had a short holiday in Bath, and this time I was particularly struck by the many beautiful skylines - the architectural details are gorgeous. I've started to produce a series of ink drawings, silhouettes in scribbly grey ink. The drawings are about 4 or 5 inches by 7 inches, and I've sewn them onto an 8 x 10 inch sheet of watercolour paper. The grey sewn line just adds a little outline to the sky area. I found it hard to photograph these pictures - the paper is creamy but it has come out rather grey in all my photos.
The views here are of the Abbey from beside the Roman Baths, the roof of the Holburne Museum, and the view down Broad Street towards the Abbey. I'm hoping to carry on this series - there are so many tempting subjects!

Autumn woollies
Now that autumn has definitely arrived, I've started to pick up my knitting again. I've finished this really soft, light and warm scarf in Rowan Kidsilk Haze, a very luxurious yarn, and it's in my Etsy shop now, at http://www.etsy.com/listing/84905696/scarf-knitted-kid-mohair-and-silk-scarf

Windswept flames
After making my autumnal treasury, I painted this impression of a hillside bonfire with windswept flames. It's an acrylic painting, 8 x 10 inches, on canvas board, and I used acrylic texture medium to give a rough and scratched surface. Green abstract, crimson abstract
My two latest paintings are a couple of gestural abstracts in heavy impasto oil paint, with scratched lines in the more thinly painted areas. I just wanted an area of gorgeous colour. These are on 5 x 7 canvas boards, and you can see them at http://www.etsy.com/listing/80584594/green-abstract-original-oil-painting-5x7 and http://www.etsy.com/listing/80539291/crimson-abstract-original-oil-painting

Sky and clouds
My latest sky painting, of clouds sailing by on a summer day. It's was great fun painting this, very cheering.

It's a 12 x 16 oil painting on a deep canvas, and you can see it at http://www.etsy.com/listing/79885582/sky-clouds-original-oil-painting-12x16

Spring hilltop
The hilltop skyline and Hunting Tower at Chatsworth, seen on a fresh spring day. I thought a long horizontal format (8 x 16 inches) would be useful for this oil painting, which shows soft grey clouds sailing past. The trees are just starting to show some spring colour.
The Hunting Tower was constructed in the 1580s for Bess of Hardwick, as a summerhouse and possibly for the ladies to view hunting in the park at the foot of the hill (though it does seem to be a long way from the flat riverside area).
