Avignon

Here is an early sketch of my latest painting - a view of rooftops and bell-tower in Avignon. I've just had a wonderful holiday there, and this was part of the view when we opened the hotel curtains!
So far, this is just a sketch of the composition and an indication of the colours, which were light and delicate, with silvery tints in the old tiles in contrast to the warmer colours on the new tiles at the front.
